Ranch Seasoning Mix
  • 1/2 cup powdered buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon dried chives
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
To Make Ranch Dip
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon homemade ranch seasoning mix
  • milk as needed to thin

Method
 

Ranch Seasoning Mix
  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl.
  2. Stir thoroughly until evenly combined.
  3. Transfer to an airtight jar or container.
  4. Store in a cool, dry pantry according to the storage recommendations for your powdered buttermilk.
To Make Ranch Dip
  1. Stir the sour cream, mayonnaise, and seasoning together until smooth. Add milk a little at a time until the ranch reaches your desired consistency.
  2. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For a thicker ranch dip, use less milk. For a thinner ranch dressing, gradually add more.
The ranch flavor develops as the dried herbs hydrate, so refrigerating the prepared ranch before serving will give you the best flavor.
Store prepared ranch covered in the refrigerator.
