Don`t let those garden beds sit empty! 🌱🧄
We`re putting this raised bed to work with TWO high-value crops this fall: saffron and garlic!
A little prep now means our garden can keep working through the colder months with very little maintenance. Saffron is one of the most valuable spices in the world, and garlic is one of my favorite crops to plant in the fall for a summer harvest.
We`re using our Vego Garden favorites to get this bed ready!

Another grocery store staple made from scratch, and those flaky layers speak for themselves! 😍
This homemade all-butter pie crust uses regular unsalted butter, simple ingredients, and a technique that creates the most beautiful, flaky layers.

This is hands-down my FAVORITE meal-planning hack! 🐓🙌
Homemade canned chicken is SO much better than anything you`ll buy at the grocery store!
I cook my chicken straight from frozen in the Instant Pot, pull the meat off the bones in larger chunks, and use the flavorful broth it makes while cooking. It`s always just about the perfect amount!
I personally prefer this over raw packing. I love the finished texture, appearance, and flavor!
And having shelf-stable chicken ready for soups, casseroles, chicken pot pie, and quick weeknight dinners? Such a game changer when you`re feeding a large family!
I`ve shared my method, equipment, pint and quart processing information, and important canning safety guidance on the blog!

⚠️ The USDA`s tested hot-pack method calls for partially cooked chicken. My fully cooked preparation is a personal variation. Follow tested canning guidance and the instructions for your specific pressure canner.

Cheddar & Chive Sourdough 🧀🌿
Two loaves, one bake! 🍞🍞
I folded sharp cheddar and fresh chives into my sourdough, then baked two loaves at once in my AHJ Dual-Chamber Bread Oven. That golden crust and cheesy interior might make this my new favorite combination!

Homemade Chicken Pot Pie Without Canned Soup
Homemade chicken pot pie without canned soup, made with leftover chicken, my homemade cream-of soup mix, frozen pre-chopped vegetables and an all-butter crust.

Hi, I’m Jill!
Mom. Wife. Teacher. Scratch cook. Pantry pro.
I feed a family of seven from my pantry — not from weekly grocery runs. Pantry to Plate is where I show busy families how to cook confidently from what’s already on the shelf: real scratch cooking, smart bulk buying, freezer meals, and homemade versions of the store-bought staples you’re used to paying too much for.
No fussy techniques, no ingredients you can’t pronounce. Just practical kitchen skills that make dinner easier, cheaper, and better — even on the busiest weeks.
Pull up a chair. Let’s get cooking.
